Hi all, Ri here - welcome back to the WSC newsletter. Sorry for missing a day! I’ve been running around at NFT NYC and learning some dope new things about web3. Without further ado… “I’m in my 20s. My 30-something year old coworker asked for help to set up Python on his machine and give him an introduction, so I did. When my supervisor asked what I did that past week, I mentioned it. He took it negatively and told me to not waste my time teaching somebody who’s that old, a new skill as it’s most likely not as absorbable compared to somebody my age.
I feel like the supervisor has the wrong attitude here. I had an employee in my 50s that was technically savvy with our software, but not Excel. I taught her some basic excel skills like PivotTables and nested formulas and she began applying them immediately. Not everyone over the age of 29 is against change :)
