What is Wall Street Confessions?
Under anonymity, people can submit anything on the Wall Street Confessions website. Stories about deep-rooted cultural issues have been posted before and sparked discourse with people like the CEO of Jefferies, prominent executives, and more. Wall Street Confessions has been able to open up a channel for anyone - no matter how junior or senior, to be able to speak on important issues. We are starting productive discourse around topics which people generally fear having conversations around - NDA culture, fear of losing the jobs that they worked so hard to get, or the stigma around topics such as mental health, gender inequity, and imposter syndrome. The financial sector can be cut-throat and competitive. Our goal is to make it more diverse and welcoming.
Through our content, we’d like to enable the financial sector to:
Break down the stigma around conversations about workplace culture
Speak out against NDA culture and settlements
Since the beginning of ‘accountability’ on Wall Street, women have been silenced by piles of cash and intimidating NDAs that they’re afraid to break.
Hold institutions and people in them accountable (*Note from Ri, I don’t like hold accountable, it feels too strong, maybe we say that we hold institutions to a higher standard and fix deeply rooted cultural issues)
It’s time to confront gender inequity and discrimination in the workplace. We want to empower people in the workplace to speak out, no matter their gender, race, sexual orientation, or position.
WSC Mission
We aspire to change the antiquated narratives in the financial services industry that have been negatively affecting disenfranchised people on Wall Street - people dealing with mental health issues, women, people of color, and the LBGTQIA+ community for decades. Wall Street can, and should do better. Here are the numbers.
WSC Goals
Strength: WSC is female founded, women of color led, and offers a Gen-Z perspective that is slowly rising in the financial services industry.
Aspirations: WSC aspires to change the antiquated narratives in the financial services industry that have been negatively affecting disenfranchised people on Wall Street - people dealing with mental health issues, women, people of color, and the LBGTQIA+ community for decades..
Opportunity: Reaching people in the financial services industry (no matter how junior or senior) to bring new perspectives on things such as workplace culture and lifestyle.
Results: Helping people forge authentic connections, starting discourse within the industry, and changing perspectives, even if it’s one person at a time.
