WSC Daily: Confession #16
Hi all, Ri here - welcome back to the WSC newsletter. I’ve been sending out confessions pretty much daily. If you want to receive them on the weekend, go ahead and hit subscribe now on the bottom of this email. It’s $10/month, but that’s less than the price of a cocktail in the city.
I’ve been working on compiling job postings + resumes… if you’re hiring, feel free to reply to this email with a JD and I’ll put it in the next send.
Anyways - here’s today’s confession:
“I started as a trading assistant right out of college years ago. My boss expected me to attend every social event as ‘added value’ as a young lady with clients. He asked me to book a poker game in NYC and ‘interview’ women off Craigslist to be the dealers and waitresses based on their looks. When he left to go to another shop he told the CEO I wasn’t loyal and I was a bad hire. Some of the other guys rallied in my defense and I joined corp finance at a top 3 firm. Never looked back. Lesson was don’t devalue yourself.”
